Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 5.x • Re: Extension Pre-Update Check

There's no other such resource or listing about extension compatibility - that's what the Preupdate check would tell you if the compatibility information was supplied by the 3rd party extension developer. The availability of the update information is dependent on the 3rd party developer providing it in their extension. (I think the Preupdate Checker refers to each extension's XML file for compatibility information. If it doesn't find it, it reports back as "Unknown".

I would suggest running an update check from Extension Manager - I expect many of your listed extensions will run on J5 either natively or with the J5 compatibility plugin - but it's up to you to check if the Pre-update check doesn't return a satisfactory answer. A few examples from your list:

OSMap requires the J5 Compatibility Plugin (in J4): https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/osmap/ (I would think that would be the same for all the related OSMap plugins you listed). (shows the J5 Compatibility Plugin tag)

MaxiMenu CK works with J5 https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/maxi-menu-ck/ (shows the J5 tag on JED listing (view the details page of that extension)

Engage Box https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/engage-box/ works on J5 (shows J5 tag on JED listing. View the details page of that extension).
https://mynsfaslogins.co.za/nsfas-login-portal/

JW Player https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... -advanced/ works on J5 (shows J5 tag on JED, view the details page of that extension)

So, again, it's a matter of running the Extension manager update check or manually checking the JED. Check your installed version against the available version and update if required. If you come across your extensions that have a J5-only version, the usual advice is disable the current extension, do the update then update the extension to the J5 version. YOu might even need to uninstall the current version to avoid potential problems.

For templates, since they are not on the JED, go to the vendor's website to check for an update. But general advice is to switch to Cassiopeia for the migration then reinstall the template you're using.
